Saving a Recipe Text File
Go to contents

If you have created a recipe text file containing information about the recipe you are saving to disc, the file name of this text file may be linked to the recipe file. When the recipe is later loaded and displayed from disc the text file will be accessable in the text editor.

Recipe text files may only be attached to the recipe file after the recipe has been saved to disc. When Matrix saves the text file it places it in the same folder as the individual recipe file or the recipe database file.

Attaching the Recipe Text File to the Recipe File

When you have saved a new recipe or loaded one from disc select the menu item shown in Fig.1

Fig.1 Loading the recipe data into the Text Editor

This menu item will load the text editor with the recipe's data displayed. (Fig.2)

Fig.2 Attaching a text file to a recipe

In the text editor you may edit the displayed text before finally attaching the text file to the recipe.

There is no limit to the size of this file. Over a period of time you may develop an extensive record of notes concerning the recipe.

The contents of the text editor may be copied for pasting in an email.

The final step is to save the recipe using the Save button or the Save > DB button and the text file will be attached to the recipe and saved in the same folder where the recipe file is located.

This process may also be completed in the Recipe Information window.

Whenever this recipe is loaded into Matrix in future the text file may be displayed by clicking the button in the tool bar.
